Zambezi Zinger is a wooden hybrid terrain roller coaster currently located at Worlds of Fun in Kansas City, Missouri, USA.

History

Zambezi Zinger was announced on August 11, 2022.[1]

The lead car was revealed at the 2022 IAAPA Expo in Orlando, Florida, USA in November 2022.

Construction began in early 2023.[2]

The ride was originally announced to open on May 26, 2023, with previews the day prior, but on May 25, 2023 Worlds of Fun announced that the opening would be delayed.[3] It opened on June 19, 2023.[4]

The park announced on March 14, 2025 that the lift hill would be enclosed for the 2025 season.[5]

Design

Elements

The design echoes that of the original Zambezi Zinger which operated at the park from 1973 to 1997. The train rolls out of the station into the spiral lift. At the top, the train drops to the ground and climbs back up into a turn similar to a stengel dive. The train then enters an turn over the bottom of the drop, followed by a banked turn that is connected to the spiral lift. The rest of the ride consists of many small banked turns, airtime hills, and a tunnel.

Trains

2 trains with 8 cars per train. In each car, riders are arranged 2 across in a single row, for a total of 16 riders per train. Zambezi Zinger is the first coaster to use Infinity Flyer trains.[6]
