Corkscrew was a steel roller coaster built by Dutch manufacturer Vekoma formerly located at Playland in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.
History
The ride was originally built in 1985 and opened at Boblo Island in Amherstburg, Ontario, Canada, where it was known as Screamer. It was painted entirely white.[1]
It operated until the park closed on 30 September 1993. In 1994, the ride was sold at auction to Playland in Vancouver, British Columbia for $850,000.[2] It was rebuilt and reopened thereafter at the park later that year, being renamed to Corkscrew and its track being repainted red.
In May 2019, Playland announced that Corkscrew would not reopen.[3]
