Fossilvaskeren (English: Fossilwasher) is a Teacups ride built by Italian manufacturer Technical Park currently located at Djurs Sommerland in Nimtofte, Midtjylland, Denmark.

Design

The ride features a big turntable with three smaller turntables spinning in the opposite direction from the main turn table. 3 ride vehicles are mounted to each smaller turntable, 9 in total. These ride vehicles can spin on their own if the rider spins on the wheel in the middle of the vehicle.

History

The ride originally opened as Kannibal Gryderne (English: Cannibal Pots) and was part of Afrikaland. The themed area would come under scrutiny in 2015 due to its depictions of Africa and it's people.[1] This in turn caused Afrikaland to slowly phase out. The first major change came in 2020, when part of the land was demolished to make way for the new Dinosaurland. Kannibal Gryderne and the nextdoor Abekatten remained open in their pre-2020 forms while the new land was under construction. The new land would eventually open in 2022.[2]

An expansion to Dinosaurland would be announced in december of 2022, containing SpinOsaurus and Motorbike Derby. SpinOsaurus, a Zamperla Disk'O Coaster would be located on the former spot of Kannibal Gryderne and Abekatten. In turn, Kannibal Gryderne would be rethemed to Fossilvaskeren and relocated to the square in front of T-Rex Family Coaster and Dino Xpedition. It would keep a roof on top of the ride as with its Afrikaland incarnation. It's retheme, with the ride now being based on a washing machine for fossils, would be designed by the Leisure Expert Group.[3] The new location of the ride would eventually be slightly different, now being located next to the Dinosaurland entrance through Westernland. With the ride also not recieving its roof as originally envisioned. The retheme would open with the expansion of Dinosaurland on 29 April 2023.[4]
