The attraction previously operated as Gauntlet at Wild Adventures adjacent to another Screamin' Swing installation. On closure, one Screamin' Swing went to Fun Spot America in Orlando, while the other went to the Fun Spot America in Kissimmee.

In January 2011, Hot Seat was painted blue. Previously, it was entirely white.
