Le Sabre was a Ranger built by German manufacturer Weber that was previously located at OK Corral in Cuges-les-Pins, Provence-Alpes-Cote d'Azur, France.

History

The ride opened as The Tempest at Pleasurewood Hills in 1990, on loan from Bembom Rides, a UK ride dealer who leased rides to other operators.[1] Prior to this, it operated in an unknown location. The ride was removed from the park at the end of the 1994 season and was replaced by Mini Dodgems in 1995.

In 1995, the ride was then leased to Camelot Theme Park, where it opened as Excalibur. It also opened that same year with The Sorcerer.[2] The ride was rethemed with a sword decoration themed after "The Sword in the Stone". The ride was removed after the 2000 season along with Tower of Terror. In 2001, a new ride called Excalibur 2 opened in a different spot. In 2003, Whirlwind opened on the former location where Excalibur previously stood. The ride was subsequently returned back to Bembom Rides.

In 2004, the ride resurfaced at OK Corral in France, another park that was operated by the Bembom family, which owned the Bembom Rides company. The ride retained its sword decoration from Camelot Theme Park and reopened as Le Sabre or The Sword. The ride arm and gondola were repainted orange when it reopened at OK Corral.

The ride was relocated within the park to make room for Gold Rush in 2012. The ride arm was repainted green as part of this move.

The ride closed in 2018. It was then scrapped.
