Monorail was a suspended Monorail that previously operated at Busch Gardens Tampa in Tampa, Florida, USA. The ride traveled over the park's safari and was manufactured by California firm Arrow Development. At times it was also referred to as Skyway Safari, Skyrail, and Veldt Monorail.

History

Plans to construct Monorail were announced on January 25, 1963. The ride opened in 1966 and was originally known as Skyway Safari.[1]

The park added two additional trains to the ride in April 1968.[1]

The ride closed in 1987 for a complete overhaul and reopened in February 1988 with a fleet of six new trains from Swiss manufacturer Intamin.[2]

The layout was modified to accommodate a new safari expansion in the late 1990s.[2]

The ride closed in 1999. Its station and queue were later re-purposed for Cheetah Hunt.[1]
