HELP |
Nemesis Inferno is a Bolliger & Mabillard steel inverted roller coaster located at Thorpe Park in Chertsey, Surrey, England, UK. Opened in 2003, the ride is themed around an erupting tropical volcano. Its name suggests that it is intended as a "sequel" or "sister" to the original roller coaster, Nemesis, a 1994 inverted coaster at its sister park, Alton Towers, although the layout and theme are entirely different.
History
During planning, the ride was known as "Project Calypso".[1]
Nemesis Inferno opened on 5 April 2003.
In May 2004, 81 students from 15 different universities rode Nemesis Inferno naked to raise money for charity.[2] It was also featured in an episode of The Inbetweeners, a popular British television program.
