Slammer was a Sky Swat located at Thorpe Park in Chertsey, Surrey, England, UK. This was one of the only two rides of its kind, with the other being Catapult at Six Flags New England.
History
The ride officially opened on 25 March 2005.
Slammer suffered periods of downtime, not only due to new technology, but also due to parts being discontinued by the manufacturer. The final rides were given in late 2016. On 4 May 2017, it was announced that the attraction would be dismantled.[1]
On the 21st November 2024, a planning permission application was made to Runnymede Council to demolish Slammer.[2] Its removal began in early 2025.[3]
