Raging River is a River Rapids ride built by Intamin located at Adventureland in Altoona, Iowa, USA. It opened in 1983.[1]

Incidents

On June 7, 2016, a 68-year-old employee died after falling onto a conveyer belt while working on the ride. He fractured his skull and suffered a major brain injury, and died in hospital.[2]

On July 3, 2021, a raft carrying six people capsized, trapping all six riders underwater. Four people were taken to hospital, of which one was critically injured while the other two had minor injuries. An 11-year-old boy died the following day from his injuries. The ride is currently standing but not operating due to the accident.[3]
