The Silver Bullet was a speed body water slide formerly located at Coney Island in Cincinnati, Ohio, USA.[1]

History

The slide opened in 1945 on a 45 foot tall tower in the middle of the park's Sunlite Pool.[1][2]

Silver Bullet, along with the rest of Sunlite Water Adventure, Coney Island's Water Park, closed for the season on September 4, 2023, this would turn out to be the park's last day, as it was sold and closed permanently on December 31, 2023.[3][4]

The slide was purchased by Cincinnati resident Adam Woltermann, who is planning to restore it and return it to use.[2][5] It was removed from Sunlite Pool on April 21, 2024.[5]

Design

The slide is made of stainless steel and weighs around 5000 pounds, the design is very similar to a standard playground slide of the time.[2][5]

The slide was positioned on a 45 foot tall tower in the middle of the Sunlite Pool, the tower had a light fixture on top of it to brighten the pool at night, once the slide was dismantled, the lights were removed, lowering the tower height to 38 feet.[2]
