On July 7, 2014 at around 4:30 PM, a 18-year old man fell from Inferno at Terra Mítica. He sustained numerous serious injuries and died at the scene. All four installations ceased operation awaiting investigation. After it was found that the restraints of Inferno had been modified without the approval of Intamin, the other three installations were reopened.
