Apocalypse was a Drop Tower built by Swiss manufacturer Intamin located at Drayton Manor Resort in Drayton Basset, Staffordshire, England, UK.[1] It was the tallest ride at Drayton Manor and one of the tallest rides in the United Kingdom before its closure on the 30th October 2022.

History

The ride opened on 27 May 2000 as the world's first drop tower with stand-up gondolas, and remained the only one until the opening of Hurakan Condor at PortAventura Park in 2005. When it originally opened it had four towers around a central tube, two sit-down and the other two stand-up. In 2002, a fifth tower was added featuring a stand-up gondola without a floor.

It closed on 30 October 2022.[2]
