HELP |
Wacky Soap Box Racers was a steel quad steeplechase roller coaster located at Knott's Berry Farm in Buena Park, California, USA. It was one of the two Arrow Dynamics steeplechase coasters in existence. The other is Steeplechase, which still operates at Blackpool Pleasure Beach in the UK.
History
The ride first opened in 1976 as Motor Cycle Chase. It was renamed Wacky Soap Box Racers in 1980.
Wacky Soap Box Racers closed in 1996, as Arrow's track, designs, and special effects had worn out. A year later, it was replaced by the short-lived Windjammer Surf Racers, which in turn was replaced by Xcelerator in 2002.
Design
Trains
