History

Older colour scheme at Knott's Berry Farm

Originally located at Knott's Berry Farm in Buena Park, California, USA under the name Boomerang, the ride opened on April 6, 1990 and is a Boomerang model from Vekoma. The ride replaced the former Corkscrew.

On March 17, 2017, Knott's Berry Farm announced that Boomerang would close on April 23, 2017 at the end of the park's Boysenberry Festival. The process of dismantling the ride began almost immediately after it closed. It was then shipped to the Netherlands where it was refurbished before being relocated to Indonesia.

On August 16, 2017, Knott's Berry Farm announced that they would be replacing Boomerang with HangTime, a Gerstlauer Infinity Coaster, in 2018.

The roller coaster has been sent to Trans Studio Cibubur. Testing occurred in November 2020.[1] The ride officially opened on May 14, 2021.

Color scheme

When it opened the ride was painted entirely blue. In 2003 it was repainted purple with green supports. For the 2013 season, the track was repainted yellow and the supports green by Baynum Painting.

Trains

Single train with 7 cars. In each car, riders are arranged 2 across in 2 rows, for a total of 28 riders per train. The train was built by Arrow Dynamics and riders were restrained by an over-the-shoulder harness.

Before opening at Trans Studio Cibubur, the coaster will receive a new train.

Trivia

The first round of the cancelled Cartoon Network game show, Brainrush, took place on this coaster.
