Teststrecke (German for Test Track) is a portable steel roller coaster which is located in Saudi Arabia. The ride is owned by the company Sela Group.

History

The ride operated at Playcenter São Paulo in Brazil and was originally called Looping Star. The attraction initially had a single vertical loop, but a second one was added after two years of operation, and the coaster was renamed Colossus. It was later located at Dorney Park & Wildwater Kingdom where it opened on 3 May 1986 under the same name.[1] The ride was later renamed Laser. It closed in 2008. Right now, it is operating in Germany as Testrecke. It also travels over the world from time to time.[2]

From March 30 until 5 September 2019, Testrecke operated at Prater. The roller coaster was subsequently acquired by the British company Mellors Group who exported it to Saudi Arabia. Since 2021, it has been operated by the Sela Group of Saudi Arabia.[3][4]
