Steel Venom is a steel launched inverted shuttle roller coaster located at Valleyfair in Shakopee, Minnesota, USA. It was built by Intamin and opened on May 17, 2003.
As of 2019, Steel Venom is the only Intamin Impulse Coaster that still has a functional holding brake.
History
Steel Venom was announced on September 3, 2002. It represented an investment of $8,500,000 USD.[1]
The ride was set to open on May 10, 2003, but this was delayed. It eventually opened on May 17, 2003.

Riders are launched forward three times and back twice. On the second launch backwards, riders are briefly stopped by the holding brake.
Trains
Single train with 7 cars. Riders are arranged 2 across in 2 rows for a total of 28 riders.
