Wave Rider is a Junior Pirate Ship built by UK manufacturer Modern Products located at Lightwater Valley in Ripon, North Yorkshire, England, UK.
History
The ride first operated at Loudoun Castle in Galston, East Ayrshire, Scotland as Junior Pirate Ship. It originally opened at a unknown date and later closed with the park on 1 October 2010.[1]
After Loudoun Castle closed, Junior Pirate Ship, along with many other rides from the closed park, were sold to Lightwater Valley in Ripon, North Yorkshire, England. The rides that were purchased from Loudoun Castle were installed in the park as part of a new pirate-themed area known as Skeleton Cove. As part of the move, the ride was renamed to Wave Rider. Wave Rider would eventually open later during the 2011 season in this new area after being delayed from the initial opening.[2]
The ride left the park during the 2022 season, but returned for 2023.[3]
