Halfpipe Tokyo (Japanese: ハーフパイプ トーキョー) is a frisbee variant located at Tokyo Joypolis in Odaiba, Minato, Tokyo, Japan.[1] It is located on the 1st Floor.[2] The ride was developed by a team at Sega led by Hiroshi Uemura.[3]
Halfpipe Tokyo opened with Tokyo Joypolis on 12 July 1996.[4] The ride was originally called Halfpipe Canyon (Japanese: ハーフパイプキャニオン) and was the first installment to be produced, and currently the only one still in operation.
In 2012, to coincide with Tokyo Joypolis' remodelling, the ride was renamed Halfpipe Tokyo.[5]
