Ichikawa Galbo

Ichikawa Galbo (Japanese: 市川ガルボ) was an indoor amusement park owned and operated by Sega Enterprises, located in Ichikawa, Chiba, Japan within the Nikke Colton Plaza shopping complex. It was the second in the "Galbo" chain.
History
Ichikawa Galbo opened on 30 November 1994 with 5 Sega-produced attractions and a Merry-Go-Round ride.[1] Being the third ATP venue, it housed much of the same attractions seen at Osaka ATC Galbo and Yokohama Joypolis.
In December 1995, it was reported that the management of Ichikawa Galbo was considering transitioning the venue out of the ATP concept into a game center. The reasons were due to lower-than-expected attendance following the park's first year of operation, from 600,000 guests a year to 480,000 guests a year.[2]
The rides were removed within an unknown timeframe after 1996, and the venue closed for good at the end of March 1999.[3] In November, a sports shop took over the former location of the park[4] and as of 2020, it has been home to several retail stores.[5]
Layout
In contrast to Osaka ATC Galbo's two floors, Ichikawa Galbo was housed on a single floor. It featured five Sega attractions (including Astronomicon and Virtua Formula), a Merry-Go-Round, a game center, a medal game area and a UFO Catcher area. Cafe Blanca, which served light snacks and drinks, was located near the amusement zone while the SegaSonic & Tails Gift Shop was located at the exit of the park.[6]
