Player's Arena (Simplified Chinese: 上海新世界世嘉游艺城) was an indoor theme park and game center located in Shanghai, China, housed within the eighth and ninth floors of the New World Shanghai complex. It was owned and operated by Shanghai New World Sega Entertainment Co, Ltd. A joint venture between Sega Corporation and New World Shanghai Co, Ltd.
History
The venue initially opened on 24 December 2005 before opening officially for a trial run on the 30th.[1] After this trial period, the venue fully opened on 23 May 2006.[2] The attraction was an early attempt at a Joypolis-type indoor theme park aimed at the Chinese market.[3]
