Yokkaichi Galbo

Yokkaichi Galbo (Japanese: 四日市ガルボ) was an amusement park located in Yokkaichi, Mie, Japan. It was situated on the Power City Yokkaichi ÆON strip mall site in its own building and was the last of the Galbo parks to be opened by Sega.
History
The venue opened on 18 March 1995. The venue contained a selection of large Sega-made attractions alongside a character shop.[1]
On 12 December 1995, it was announced that the venue would transition out of the ATP format into operating as a large-scale game center instead. On that day, the venue abolished admission fees and removed all attractions aside from AS-1 and a four-player Virtua Formula cabinet. The attractions removed from site were replaced with medal game machines and other equipment.[2] The failure of the site as an indoor theme park, alongside Ichikawa Galbo (which transitioned from the ATP format into a game center the following year in 1996) led to Sega scrapping the Galbo chain altogether, with upcoming parks in Fukuoka and Shinjuku becoming Joypolis venues prior to their opening.
Yokkaichi Galbo successfully continued on as a game center and was renamed Sega World Yokkaichi Galbo (Japanese: セガワールド四日市ガルボ) in August 2000[3]. The venue closed on 20 February 2008.[4] For a while, the former building became home to a furniture exhibition warehouse[5] until the entirety of Power City Yokkaichi was demolished in 2019 and reconstructed as ÆON TOWN Yokkaichi Tomari.
