Rocket Ships was a Flying Machine built by American firm Traver Engineering Company previously located at Geauga Lake in Aurora, Ohio, USA.
History
The ride was reportedly built in 1924.[1]
The ride last operated in 1995.[1] Rocket Ships was placed in storage after its removal.[2]
In March 1997, Geauga Lake vice president Jeffery Lococo shared plans to bring the ride back and install it atop a 1950s-style diner called the Atomic Tower.[2] It does not appear that these plans ever came to fruition. Lococo identified the ride as being from 1945, which may be when the rocket-shaped vehicles were installed.[2]
The ride's cars were reportedly used as props at the park and later at Cedar Point in Sandusky, Ohio, USA for their HalloWeekends event.[3]
