Carolina Turnpike, originally known as Carowinds Speedway, was a Track Ride built by US manufacturer Arrow Development that was previously located at Carowinds in Charlotte, North Carolina, USA.

History

The ride opened with the park in 1973 as Carowinds Speedway. It was renamed Carolina Turnpike in the late 1980s.[1]

When Hillbilly Jalopies closed in 1987, its vehicles were used on Carolina Turnpike's track alongside the existing sportscars.[1]

The ride was replaced with Vortex in 1992.[2]
