Carowinds and Carolina Railroad was a Miniature Railway built by US manufacturer Crown Metal Products previously located at Carowinds in Charlotte, North Carolina, USA. It featured two locomotives.

History

Carowinds and Carolina Railroad opened with the park in 1973. It originally had three stations, including one under the park entryway. By 1976, only one station - the Black Bear Train Station - remained in operation.[1]

One of the ride's locomotives, the Melodia, was fabricated in 1897 and used for pulling sugar cane at a Louisiana plantation.[2] After its run, in Louisiana, the locomotive operated at Cherokee Wonderland in Cherokee, North Carolina, USA and then the cancelled Space City USA park in Huntsville, Alabama, USA.[3]

The ride intermittently operated for previews at Carowinds in 1972, a year before the park itself opened.[4][5][6]

Following the ride's closure, one locomotive was ultimately relocated to Neverland Ranch in Los Olivos, California, USA.
