The ride opened with the park in 1971.
On April 5, 2006, Log Jammer was damaged as a forklift slipped and dented the ride while performing routine maintenance.
Park officials subtly announced Log Jammer's closure, and only said it would be removed for a "new attraction". The ride closed on October 31, 2011.
