HELP |
Runaway Mine Train is a steel kiddie roller coaster currently located at Flamingo Land, where it opened in 2007 after operating at two other parks.
History
The ride first opened at Gulliver's Warrington as Runaway Train in 2004. It left the park in 2005. The ride contained some theming which was obviously not sold with the coaster when it left the park.
The ride was relocated to American Adventure Theme Park where it opened on 8 April 2006 as Mini Mine Rush. It operated for one season, as the park closed in 2006.
The ride was sold and relocated to Flamingo Land. It opened in 2007 as Runaway Mine Train. In 2019 this coaster was relocated within the park, to make way for Sik. It is now situated adjacent to Zooom!.
Design
The ride features a simple, compact layout. After the lift hill, the ride drops to the right, making a 180-degree turn, then rising before a 360 degree helix. A bunny hop follows then a 180 degree right turn back to the station. The train completes two or three laps of the track dependent on the business of the ride.
The ride is painted orange with silver supports.
Trains
Single train with 8 cars. In each car, riders are arranged 2 across in a single row, for a total of 16 riders per train. The train is mine-train themed.
