Top Gun was a Flight Trainer from Swiss manufacturer Intamin that previously operated at Flamingo Land in Malton, North Yorkshire, England, UK and originally operated as Flight Commander at Kings Island in Mason, Ohio, USA.

History

Flight Commander opened at Kings Island on April 14, 1990.[1]

The ride temporarily closed following an accident on June 9, 1991.[2] It did not reopen until 1992.[3]

Flight Commander was removed from Kings Island in 1995. It reopened at Flamingo Land in 1996. The military themed ride was scrapped at the end of the 2004 season.

Incident

A woman was ejected from the ride on June 9, 1991 and fell to her death.[2] The ride was immediately closed for investigation and did not reopen until 1992.
