Delirium is a Frisbee ride located at Kings Island in Mason, Ohio, USA. It was the first Giant Frisbee installation from HUSS when it first opened in 2003.[1]
History
Delirium was announced on September 25, 2002.[2] The ride opened on April 12, 2003.
Design
Delirium carries a capacity of 50 passengers. The structure is 62 feet tall and increases the angle to 120 degrees. Riders swing to a max height of 137 feet off the ground while reaching speeds up to 76 mph and experiencing a positive g-force of up to 4.5 g.
The beginning of the queue line is positioned close to one side of the attraction, so that when the ride is in motion, the circular gondola appears to just miss the overhead canvas that protects guests from falling objects. As a result, a strong breeze is felt by guests waiting in line. Riders are later arranged into two groups of 25 before entering the final section of the queue. Riders are secured by over the shoulder restraints.
