Columbus Zoo and Aquarium is a zoo in Powell, Ohio, USA. It includes an amusement area, Rides at Adventure Cove, that was previously known as Jungle Jack's Landing.
History

While the Columbus Zoo has existed since 1927, a theme park was built next to it in 1937. Zoological Park Association, Inc. acquired both the Zoo and the Park in 1971. In 1983, Funtime Parks leased the park and land from the Zoo and constructed the Wyandot Lake water park, of which the dry rides section of Zoo Park merged within.
The lease transitioned to Premier Parks in 1995, which rebranded as Six Flags in 2000. Following the company's financial issues, the company announced on April 13, 2006 that they would not renew their operations lease with the Zoo and sell the park back.[1][2] After the sale was closed by October 2006, Columbus Zoo management announced that the park would undergo a complete transformation and would not open for the 2007 season.[3]
Throughout 2007, Wyandot Lake saw a complete reconstruction and reconfiguration into a standalone water park, which was named Zoombezi Bay following an online voting poll.[4] For the park's dry rides, a majority of them were removed from site while others, including those that would be added by the Columbus Zoo, would become part of the Zoo grounds under the name of Jungle Jack's Landing. The new offerings opened to the public on May 26, 2008.[5]
In July 2020, Jungle Jack's Landing was merged into the new "Adventure Cove" area of the Zoo and was renamed as Rides at Adventure Cove.[6]
