HELP |
Krypton Comet was a Chaos ride located at Six Flags America in Upper Marlboro, Maryland, USA. It operated from 2000 to 2005. The ride was themed to Superman's home world of Krypton, which was destroyed due to a nuclear reaction within the planet's core a short while after Kal-El was born. It was painted green to reflect the planet's traditional green color, and the center resembled kryptonite, radioactive remnants of Krypton that can weaken Superman.
The old Six Flags website describes Krypton Comet as "Whirl into a chaotic flash of rocking, rolling, rotating fun."
History
Krypton Comet opened in May 2000 along with Superman: Ride of Steel.[1]
The attraction was temporarily closed in 2001 after the Chaos incident at Michigan's Adventure where a defect with the ride model hurt guests.
