HELP

Pirate Ship is a Zamperla Pirate Ship currently operating at Great Yarmouth Pleasure Beach in Great Yarmouth, Norfolk, England, UK. It has been at the park since the 2001 season, and replaced the similar Viking which had been a guest ride at the park, on loan from showman Abie Morris for the 2000 season.

History

The ride was new to Michael & Claudia Houghton of Spanish City Amusement Park, Whitley Bay in April 1984. In June 1989 the ride passed into the hands of new park owners Whitegate Leisure and continued to operate at the park.

At the end of the 1995 season the ride was sold to Fred Pooley, a concessionaire at Rainbow Park (Hunstanton), Norfolk. It would operate at the park for 3 seasons, before again being sold on again in January 1999, this time to Richard Cadell of Brean Leisure Park. A sale to Great Yarmouth Pleasure Beach followed 2 seasons of operation at the Somerset park. Pirate Ship closed in 2023 and was replaced by Ghost Ship.[1]
