HELP |
Kleine Zweefmolen was a Junior Chair-O-Plane built by an unknown manufacturer previously located at Efteling in Kaatsheuvel, North Brabant, The Netherlands.
History
The attraction was purchased in 1950, and opened in the park in 1951. It got a big renovation a few years later, adding themed plates to hide its inner working, this was designed by Anton Pieck.[1] The ride received a major overhaul in 2023, with the decorative panels being removed and replaced with replica's. This was done due to the many repaints of the panels distorting the original image. The ride itself would be scrapped, and replaced by a new version manufactured by Wood Design Amusement Rides, who also manufactured the new version of Grote Zweefmolen.[2]
Location
The ride was located within the "Anton Pieckplein" (roughly translating to "Anton Piecksquare"), an area of the park themed to an old timey Dutch village in the middle of an classic funfair. Other rides in this area are Anton Pieckcarrousel, Grote Zweefmolen, Vermolenmolen and Vlindermolen. The area got a big facelift in 2003, adding more theming and removing some older rides (such as the Jeepmolen).[3]
Etymology
Kleine Zweefmolen is Dutch for "Small Chair-O-Plane"
