Kleine Zweefmolen is a Junior Chair-O-Plane built by Wood Design Amusement Rides currently located at Efteling in Kaatsheuvel, North Brabant, The Netherlands.
Design
This ride is a custom design, made to resemble the old version it replaced as close as possible. The same thing was done with Grote Zweefmolen. two years prior.[1] The ride did recieve some additional theming in the form of monkey statues. These statues where designed by Anton Pieck for the 1951 original version of the ride, but were never realised. They would finally appear on the new version after a redesign by Karel Willemen. These statues would debute on the reopening of the area after multiple theming upgrade on 19 April 2023.[2]
Location
The ride is located within the "Anton Pieckplein" (roughly translating to "Anton Piecksquare"), an area of the park themed to an old timey Dutch village in the middle of an classic funfair. Other rides in this area are Anton Pieckcarrousel, Grote Zweefmolen, Vermolenmolen and Vlindermolen. The area got a big facelift in 2003, adding more theming and removing some older rides (such as the Jeepmolen).[3]
Etymology
Kleine Zweefmolen is Dutch for "Small Chair-O-Plane"
