History

The attraction first opened alongside the Tidal Wave at Flamingo Land in 1993.[1] It was called Sky Flyer and operated until 2014. It was dismantled in March 2015 and was purchased by former sister park Pleasure Island Family Theme Park who reopened and repainted it as Voltar in May 2015. Back at Flamingo Land, the ride's former location became home to a relocated Flying Clowns later in 2015.[2] Pleasure Island would eventually close at the end of the 2016 season on the 29th of October 2016 and all of it's rides were put up for sale. Voltar was sold in December 2016 and was subsequently dismantled thereafter, with it completely removed from the site by January 2017. It was then refurbished in the Czech Republic and was sold to Baghdad Island in Iraq where it reopened in 2017 alongside with the Obliterator.
