Serpent was a steel hybrid terrain kiddie roller coaster previously located at Six Flags AstroWorld in Houston, Texas, USA.

History

Serpent was built by Arrow Development and opened in 1969 making it the park's first roller coaster and the last Mini Mine Train to be built by Arrow.[1] Also opened that year was the Bamboo Shoot log flume, which both were located in the park's Oriental Village area.[2]

In 1978, Serpent was re-profiled in order to remove a dip.[3]

In 2003, Serpent's train was repainted.[4]

The ride permanently closed with Six Flags AstroWorld on October 30, 2005. After the park's closure, it was put up for auction with the track being sold as scrap metal for $4000.[5] Serpent's train was then moved to Six Flags Over Texas for use on Mini Mine Train.[6]
