Ednör - L'Attaque is an inverted roller coaster located at La Ronde in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. It is a Suspended Looping Coaster installation from Vekoma.
History
On 18 November 1998, Six Flags AstroWorld announced that Serial Thriller would open for the 1999 season at a cost of $10 million as part of a $15 million investment package for the park. [1]
In January 1999, red track and teal supports for Serial Thriller were delivered to the park and arrived in a old car dealership parking lot next to the park. Excalibur was removed and subsequently dismantled from the park at the end of the 1998 season by February 1999 to make room for the new coaster. [2][3]
On 28 May 1999, Serial Thriller opened to the public with it's media day being held two days before. [4]
After Six Flags AstroWorld's closure on October 30, 2005, Six Flags would relocate many of the park's rides to other Six Flags properties, while others were put up for auction or demolished for scrap. Serial Thriller was subsequently dismantled [5] and was moved to Six Flags Great Escape along with other AstroWorld ride Tidal Wave, where it sat in storage from December 2005 until July 2009.[6][7]
In July 2009, the parts of Serial Thriller were removed and shipped off from storage at Six Flags Great Escape and were shipped further north to La Ronde to be rebuilt there for the 2010 season. [8][9][10][11] The red track was resprayed and the supports were repainted from teal to yellow. "Ednör" is a play on words of the second word of La Ronde. "Ednör" is "Ronde" spelled backwards.[12] Ednör - L'Attaque opened on 15 May 2010.
