Fiesta Swing is a Waveswinger built by US manufacturer Chance Rides currently located at Wonderland Amusement Park in Amarillo, Texas, USA.

History

The ride first opened at Six Flags AstroWorld in Houston, Texas, USA in 1975 as Gunslinger.[1] It was installed in the Western Junction section of the park replacing the Mill Pond.

In 1983, Gunslinger had its double chairs removed.

In 1991, Gunslinger had an new computer console and PA system installed.[2]

In 1998, Gunslinger was relocated within the park to make room for Taz's Texas Tornado, being installed on the former location of the AquaArena. The water pond that the ride was originally installed over was filled in as part of this move.[3]

The ride would continue to operate until it closed with the park permanently on October 30, 2005.[4]

In January 2006, the ride was dismantled and was sold at auction to Wonderland Amusement Park for $23,000 and by March 2006 was subsequently transported to Amarillo, Texas.[5][6] The ride's gun decorations and theming was retained by Six Flags and sent to Six Flags Over Texas in Arlington, Texas, USA for subsequent use on Gunslinger.[7]

The ride received an cylinder inspection from Chance Rides upon arrival at the park. It later opened at the park as part of the new West End area on June 3, 2009.[8]
