Splashwater Falls was a Spinning Raft ride built by Canadian manufacturer WhiteWater West formerly located at Six Flags New England in Agawam, Massachusetts, USA.
History
The ride was first rumored in November 2002 and was confirmed in January 2003 by Amusement Business.[1][2]
The ride was announced on February 7, 2003, along with SWAT.[3]
The ride originally opened in 2003 at Six Flags AstroWorld as Diablo Falls.[4][5] The station and some of the ride was situated on part of the former plot of Texas Tornado along with the former site of Astroneedle.
During the ride's opening year, seatbelts were installed. In 2005, the ride's seatbelts were removed.[6]
On October 30, 2005, Six Flags AstroWorld closed permanently and Diablo Falls was relocated to Six Flags New England.[7][8] There, it would be renamed Splashwater Falls and reopened in 2006, replacing Poland Springs Plunge.[9]
Splashwater Falls closed for good on September 5, 2016 and was replaced by Joker in 2017.[10] The ride was demolished and scrapped in late September 2016.[11]
