Chewits Log Chute was a Log Flume built by US manufacturer Arrow Development that was previously located at Pleasureland Southport in Southport, Merseyside, England, UK.

History

The ride was originally built in 1969 and first operated at Magic Harbor in Surfside Beach, South Carolina, USA as Log Flume. It would operate at the park over various owners over the years, including Blackpool Pleasure Beach in the UK.

When Blackpool Pleasure Beach closed the park after 1986, Log Flume was one of the few rides that were removed by them and was transferred to one of their other parks in the UK. The ride later reopened at Pleasureland Southport at Southport, Merseyside, England, UK in 1991, retaining the Log Flume name and colour scheme from Magic Harbor.[1][2][3]

At some point during the late 1990s and early 2000s, the ride was rethemed as Chewits Log Chute, being repainted into different bright colours as part of a sponsorship deal between Blackpool Pleasure Beach and confectionary brand Chewits.[4]

It would continue to operate until Pleasureland Southport was closed by its owner, Blackpool Pleasure Beach on 5 September 2006.

After the park's closure in 2006, the ride was demolished and scrapped in June 2007 by Sefton Council.

When the park later reopened as Southport Pleasureland under new ownership, an replacement log flume, Loki's Log Flume was built on its former site.
