Captain’s Curse is a HUSS Pirate Ship currently operating at M&D's Scotland's Theme Park in Motherwell, North Lanarkshire, Scotland, UK. It has operated at the park since the 2008 season. This followed an extensive refurbishment during 2007 after its purchase from Pleasureland Southport.
History

The ride was originally known as Tidal Wave and first opened at Blackpool Pleasure Beach in March 1980.[1] It was owned by Green Star Rides who were concessionaires at the park, also operating rides such as The Whip and Starship Enterprise.[2] Whilst at Blackpool Pleasure Beach, Tidal Wave would change hands a couple of more times, firstly to Alfie Manning in 1983, and later to the Pleasure Beach themselves. The ride closed at the park in 1996.
Tidal Wave later moved to sister park Pleasureland Southport for the 1997 season,[3] retaining its name and decor from Blackpool Pleasure Beach. It was located in front of the Mirror Maze and Haunted Swing.[4]
It operated until Pleasureland Southport was permanently closed by its owner, Blackpool Pleasure Beach on 5 September 2006.
In January 2007, Tidal Wave was sold to Scottish showmen Matt & Doug Taylor. It was later extensively refurbished by them and reopened in 2008 at their M&D's Scotland's Theme Park in Motherwell, North Lanarkshire, Scotland, UK as Captain's Curse.
