Caterpiller is a travelling steel kiddie roller coaster built by Italian manufacturer Pinfari currently owned and travelled by UK showman Paul Hart.

History

The ride first operated at Magic Harbor in Surfside Beach, South Carolina, USA as Big Apple. It opened at an unknown date. It would operate at the park under various owners over the years, including Blackpool Pleasure Beach in the UK.[1]

When Blackpool Pleasure Beach closed the park at the end of the 1986 season, Big Apple was one of the rides removed by them and transferred to one of their other parks in the UK. The ride reopened at Pleasureland Southport in Southport, Merseyside, England, UK in 1987, retaining the Big Apple name.[2][3][4]

It closed with the rest of the park on 5 September 2006 and was sold to showman Paul Hart. He operated the coaster at the reopened New Pleasureland Southport from 2007 to 2009. The ride later operated on loan at Billing Aquadrome in 2011 and 2012.
