Drench Falls was a Log Flume built by US manufacturer Arrow Development that was previously located at Blackpool Pleasure Beach in Blackpool, Lancashire, England, UK. It was the first log flume to open in Europe and measured 2,349 feet long.

History

The ride was built at Blackpool Pleasure Beach over a two year period starting from 1965 which lasted into 1967 and was bought by then park owner Leonard Thompson for £180,000. The ride opened at the park in 1967 as Log Flume.[1][2] The total max height of the ride stood at 50 feet tall.

In 2000, the ride's station was refurbished with the addition of a 27 metre long conveyor belt, which assisted with smoother passenger loading and disembarking. At some point in its later life, the ride was renamed to Drench Falls.

During 2003 or earlier, the ride was sponsored by cosmetic brand Comfort Dry. By early 2004, this sponsorship had ended.

The ride closed on 3 September 2006. The park confirmed two days earlier that they would sell off the ride's boats for £25.[3] After a week of closure, the ride's water was drained out and site prep for clearing started. On 24 September 2006, demolition of the ride started. By 14 October 2006, the ride's demolition was mostly complete.[4]

The ride was replaced by Infusion for the 2007 season, which was built on its former site and was relocated from former sister park Pleasureland Southport after it closed permanently the previous year.
