Clacton Pier is a seaside pier in England, UK.

History[edit | edit source]

In the 1930s a roller coaster was constructed on the pier called Steel Stella. The ride was a big success and remained at the pier until the 1970s when a fire in the lift house caused severe damage which resulted in the closure and subsequent demolition of the ride.

Since then the pier has been home to a Vekoma Whirlwind coaster and a number of smaller coasters. In 2011, the current owners installed Stellas Revenge, an Interpark roller coaster relocated from a closed park.

Since 2018, The pier has been regenerating areas and improving previously outdated sites - This included the opening of a new golf course and solf play centre in 2018 and 2 major rides in 2020.
