Chaos opened to the public in 1997.
The ride was temporarily closed in 2001 due to an incident on Chaos at Michigan's Adventure. The ride reopened following an inspection. Chaos was later relocated to a new spot to make room for Top Thrill Dragster.
Chaos was listed for sale in 2009. In 2010, it was removed and replaced by a basketball midway game that retained the same backdrop.
