'Incredicoaster, originally known as California Screamin, is an Intamin launched roller coaster located at Disney California Adventure Park in Anaheim, California, USA. The coaster has one inversion, a 108 foot drop, and is one of the longest roller coasters in the world, and the longest with an inversion. The LIM launch system was provided by IntraSys GmbH.
History
Disney California Adventure Park opened on February 8, 2001, with California Screamin' being one of the park's debut attractions.
In November 2017, it was announced that as part of the Pixar Pier project, California Screamin' would be closed on January 8, 2018 in preparation for a retheme to the Incredibles including a rename to Incredicoaster.[1] The ride reopened as Incredicoaster on June 23, 2018.
Ride Experience
After leaving the station, trains navigate low-speed turns with a small show-scene to the right, before holding at the beginning of the launch track. After a brief hold and a countdown, trains launch at 55 mph and ascend a steep slope, before reaching a partly enclosed airtime hill. Trains dive down to the right, before rising up into a small block brake. The ride then makes a sweeping right hand turn, dropping down further before navigating a small left-hand turn. Riders then ascend a partially enclosed 120-foot LIM lift hill, followed by a sweeping left-hand drop into another right-hand turn. Following a short straight section, trains then dip down and navigate a vertical loop parallel to the lift hill. Following this, trains hop up into a block brake, dipping down once more through a third 'scream tube' and then running parallel to the initial sweeping right-hand turn. Trains then rise up to the left, encountering the third mid-course block brake, followed by two bunny hops. Immediately after is the ride's fourth and final mid-course block brake, followed by a wavy left-hand turn. After this, trains navigate a low-to-the-ground left-hand turn, rising gently into the first portion of the final brake run. Trains then make one final left turn, into the second half of the final brake run. Immediately following is a slight right-hand turn, where the track then splits into the ride's dual loading station.
