Tumbili is a steel winged 4th Dimension roller coaster at Kings Dominion in Doswell, Virginia, USA. The ride opened on March 12, 2022, and is an S&S Worldwide 4D Free Spin. It replaced The Crypt, a HUSS Top Spin that opened in 2005 and closed in 2019.
History
On January 23, 2020, Kings Dominion announced that The Crypt would be removed.[1]
On March 2, 2020, the park filed the permits to build an S&S Worldwide 4D Free Spin.[2]
Tumbili was officially announced by Kings Dominion on August 12, 2021.[3]
Vertical construction of Tumbili began in December 2021.[4] The ride was completed in February 2022.[5] Testing then began shortly after.[6]
On March 12, 2022, the ride opened to guests.[7] The same day it opened, snowy weather and chilled temperatures only allowed the coaster to dispatch two trains with riders before the park was shut down early for the day.[8]
