Pirates of Speelunker Cave, previously known as Yosemite Sam and the Gold River Adventure and Speelunkers Cave (also referred to as The Cave) prior to that, is a Dark Boat Ride built by US manufacturer Arrow Development currently located at Six Flags Over Texas in Arlington, Texas, USA.[1]
History
The ride opened in 1964 as Speelunkers Cave. It closed in 1991 and was rethemed as Yosemite Sam and the Gold River Adventure, with the new design by R&R Creative Amusement Designs and figures by Sally Corporation. The boats were updated to have tethered units for increased capacity.[2] The updated ride had music created by Kevin Nadeau.[3] The updated ride reopened in 1992.[4]
The ride was damaged by severe flooding in 2018 and did not reopen with the existing theme.
The ride opened with its current theme on May 14, 2022.
