Great Six Flags Air Racer was a Barnstormer built by Swiss manufacturer Intamin that was previously located at Six Flags Over Texas in Arlington, Texas, USA.[1]

History

The Great Six Flags Air Racer was announced on February 3, 1984 with an anticipated May 1984 opening.[2] The ride's opening was delayed when a similar ride at Six Flags Over Georgia, also named Great Six Flags Air Racer, malfunctioned and injured 34 riders.[3] The ride officially opened to the public on June 28, 1984.[4]

Design

The Great Six Flags Air Racer consisted of 12 replicas of old-fashioned biplanes that encircled a 135-foot tower, reaching heights of 90 feet and speeds of 36 mph.[5]
