History

Roaring Rapids officially opened on April 1, 1983. The ride costed $4.2 million to build.[1]

Incident

On March 21, 1999, a 28-year-old woman was killed and ten other passengers were injured after the raft they were in overturned due to a sudden deflation of the air chambers that supported it. According to park management, the woman drowned in the water when she was unable to release her seat belt.[2]
