Roaring Rapids is a River Rapids ride built by Intamin located at Six Flags Over Texas in Arlington, Texas, USA.

History

Roaring Rapids opened on April 1, 1983. The ride cost $4.2 million to build.^[1]

The ride received rafts from the former Thunder River at Six Flags AstroWorld after that park closed in 2005.^[2]

Incident

On March 21, 1999, a 28-year-old woman was killed and ten other passengers were injured after the raft they were in overturned due to a sudden deflation of the air chambers that supported it. According to park management, the woman drowned in the water when she was unable to release her seat belt.^[3]
