Fly to lie / Lie to fly

(Redirected from Fly to lie)
The fly to lie on Galactica at Alton Towers

Fly to lie and lie to fly are half-inversions seen on 4th Dimension and flying roller coasters. A fly to lie element involves a 180-degree twist from the rails facing downward to the rails facing upward. A lie to fly begins with the rails facing upward and ends with the rails facing downward. In the case of a flying roller coaster the fly to lie switches riders from a flying position (facing downward) to a lying position (facing upward) whereas the lie to fly does the opposite.
